As founding partner of Mallison & Martinez law firm, Mallison has 20-years of experience litigating over 500 wage-and-hour class and PAGA actions. Over this time, Mallison has developed a database and mathematical approach towards settlement which he carries over to his mediation practice. He has received mediation training at the Straus Institute for Dispute Resolution at Pepperdine.
Before establishing the Mallison & Martinez firm, Mallison worked for Milberg Weiss Bershad Hynes & Lerach (“Milberg”) and later joined Lerach Coughlin Stoia & Robbins (“Lerach”) when the Milberg firm divided in 2004. The Milberg and Lerach firms represent the largest and second largest class action firms in the country.
Mallison’s work focused on class action cases and included work on highly complex cases including: the Enron Securities Litigation (settlements currently totaling over $7 billion), Mariana Island Garment workers cases (a $20 million wage and hour settlement on behalf of 20,000 migrant workers on the island of Saipan), the 3Com securities class action (settlement of $259 million), a Federal Court challenge to the sufficiency of Federal Department of Transportation’s NAFTA Truck safety regulations, a Federal Court challenge to President Bush’s Executive Order re: Project Labor Agreements, In re Pemstar Securities (settlement of $12 million), Cisneros v. Yahoo (representing a purported class of millions of consumers), Retailers National Bank v. Harding (representing millions of credit card holders), Block v. Ebay (representing millions of defrauded Ebay users), and dozens of other cases. While at Stanford Law School, Mallison externed with the National Labor Relations Board both at the Division of Judges and at the Washington D.C. Headquarters, working under the supervision of the Chairman of the NLRB, William B. Gould.
